Overlapping Vectors

When set to a higher level of chaos, the vector intersections overlap, that causes a problem when cutting. The only way to get rid of the overlapping part is to cut each one out, LOTS OF WORK.

Anyone had this problem??

Here is a trick that hopefully will save you time.

First Ungroup the puzzle results.
Then Combine the puzzle to a single object / curve
Select the entire puzzle with the shape tool
Break Curve (This will bread each curve at its node points)
Now Break Curve Apart (Ctrl - K)
Run Macro - Remove Underlying Dups

The results will be no overlapping intersections. Sure it sounds like a few steps, but once you get the hang it goes really fast, and you could create a macro to do it even quicker. I have attached the Remove Underlying Dups macro installer, it will install for 11 - X4, it also works fine in X5, you just need to manually copy the GMS file.

Another tip, if you want to combine all the broken curves back into more manageable curves you can use the Join Curves docker in CorelDRAW X5. It does a great job.

GMS File should be put in your User GMS folder, or the GMS folder under Program Files. Some sample locations can be found here:

I installed removeUnderlyingDups.gms in the location specified in the link you provided in response to my previous post. At the point in your directions to run the macro, I went to Macro Manager in CorelDRAW X5, maximized Visual Basic for Applications, removeUnderlyingDups, wx, and then double clicked on removeUnderlyingDups macro. When I return to Object Manager, I still have the individual objects that were present before I double clicked on the removeUnderlyingDups macro. Clearly, I am doing something incorrectly. Any suggestions?

First, did you have your shape selected? Second, you don't have to open the VBA editor, you can just use the Run | Run Macro.

If you want to include a small .cdr file I can double check that it will work for this type of file.
