Corel X8
 
Hi Folks,

Since I am (trying) to installing X8 for VBA purposes I am posting these questions here...

1. X8 will not install unless you uninstall previous versions.

Why is this? I need prior versions!

2. X8 currently only supports 4 languages (English, Spanish, French, and Brazilian).

Where are all the other languages?
Are they not supported yet?

I have X7 and X8 running on the same system. No issues installing X8 with previous versions here.

I have X4 - X8 installed on one system and X6 - X8 on another system and do not have any issues. What type of issues are you having?

X8 supports several more languages. You only see the ones you have listed because you have the AM installer. If you look on the end of your installer file you will see an _AM. You can download the other installers by logging into the Corel site and going to Downloads. The installers break down like this:

AM - English, Spanish, French, Portuguese
EMEA - Italian, German, Dutch,
EE - Polish, Turkish, Czech, Russian
APAC - Japanese, Chinese Simplified, Chinese Traditional

Thanks for the feedback guys! Regarding installing X8 with previous versions, I can't get past this error message.

FWIW
(I am installing Disk from a cd drive on another computer because I don't have one on this new laptop) Windows 10 64 bit.

Hi Guys,
I found that X8 has installation problems on machines that have installations of Visual Studio 15, Release 2. By uninstalling all "Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable" programs fixed issue and X8 installed completely with no problems... See attached.
I'll let you know what I find on the mult-languages.

Although I had already resolved the issue, I wanted to post Corel Tech Support Response iterating the fix.

Thank you for contacting Corel Technical Support.
I understand that you were having a hard time resolving this issue. In order to give you help, please provide the following:
• Your computer's operating system where the program was being installed.
• Corel program.
• Product serial number.
• Scanned copy of the Invoice/Proof-of-Purchase receipt OR original e-mail confirmation from the retailer.
• Order number (if download / ESD version).
• Steps you performed before the error occur.
However, this issue when installing CorelDraw Graphics Suite X8 has been reported already and searching for a much better workaround. For the meantime, you may try the following instruction in order to troubleshoot the issue:

For 64bit version of CorelDraw Graphics Suite X8:
1. Launch Windows Control Panel, Programs, Programs and Features.
2. Scroll to Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable (x64) - 14.0.23918.0
3. Double-click to uninstall the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable.
4. Install CDGS X8.
5. Reinstall the 64bit version of Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable from https://www.visualstudio.com/downloa...-vs#d-visual-c


For 32bit version of CorelDraw Graphics Suite X8:
1. Launch Windows Control Panel, Programs, Programs and Features.
2. Scroll to Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable (x86) - 14.0.23918.0
3. Double-click to uninstall the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable.
4. Install CDGS X8.
5. Reinstall the x86 version of Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable from https://www.visualstudio.com/downloa...-vs#d-visual-c
Important: Any Microsoft Visual Studio 2015 Update 2 components (specifically the Visual C++ components noted above) that were uninstalled prior to installing CDGS X8 must be reinstalled to the updated version as noted in step 5 above after CDGS X8 is successfully installed.

Hmm, that is very interesting. At least the error message in the installer could be a bit clearer. I wonder if this issue is logged.
