I personally have no experience at using laser engravers, so I really can't help you with this. However I hope someone else here could offer you some advice on this.

: 1st off! you must have a driver for your laser cuter. 2nd, I take it you me lazer cutter, being that you want to "mill" the layout. Cut into pieces! Right?
If you dont have this then you will need to clarify to me as how you plan on cutting this. Software hardware etc. Most and really all cnc machine's use dxf formats to convert to g-code by a driver device. The driver is your speed and heat hieght etc controller. Just use the progam to create the jigsaw and then save it as needed ( DXF) -edit in a cad program for precision and lead-ins etc then use your stuff- Let me know of anything that may be drastically different in your case for me to be wrong!
O and one thing that could produce a henderence of tool optimization when lazer cutting etc.. are nodes.. what kind they are in the dwg. and of how many there are. The more the , more the progams must read and take consideration of!.
PEACE
