Default Bug: FuseCurves looses shapes from selection range

Alex,

please open the attached CorelX4 file. Select all. Start macro FuseCurves. Everything worked fine. Except: The two circles are no longer selected! The reason might be that FuseCurves didn't have to do any work on them, because there was no need to fuse these curves. Corel behaves somewhat strange in that the selection is still shown in the Object Manager. But try to color the outline red. You'll see that the circles are not selected.

When FuseWorks is used from another macro this will make work very difficult. Right now my workaouround is to make a symbol out of the selection first then edit that symbol, use FuseCurves, select everything in the symbol (which is the actual workaoround) and do the things I want to do with those shapes. But editing inside the symbol is somewhat risky in CorelDraw. And of course slows down things a lot!

Any idea on that?

Markus

Well, you are right... FuseCurves command works only on curve objects and it excludes everything else (in your case the two ellipses). If you convert everything to curves, all the objects will remain selected.

But I agree it would be better if the skipped objects still remain selected after the command is executed...

Default What do you plan

Alex,

due to the workaround I described in the inital posting the described behavior is not a pressing issue for me at this time. Would be rather nice to fix this in the next release at least.

Markus
