Hello,
Where does Corel Application Recovery Manager wizard save the file before closing an unstable session of Corel Draw? I chose this option, to save the file and then quit, when my session got unstable, but when I opened the file again and it doesn't saved my changes. And I recall that the program doesn't save the changes in the original file, but in a copy of it, which I can't find it now. Thank you, |

I'm not sure where it saves them, but if you look soon after creating a crash file it would be easy to find out.
Windows-F will bring up the file find dialogue. Leave everything blank except under "when was it modified" select "Specify Dates" and accept today as default. Let it finish finding today's new files then make sure "Date Modified" is one of the column headers. Click on it to sort in time order, scroll down to around the time of your crash and see if any file at that time is the one. If it isn't, repeat the search to look in any network drive you might have originally loaded the file from. If its not in either of those lists, then the probability is that it didn't manage to create the recovery file. |

It didn't work. I also used the search engine of Total Commander and it didn't return the file. Probably it's lost..
Thanks anyway! |

I think I found it on
c:\Documents and Settings\[user]\Local Settings\Temp\cor1.cdr |

Definitely there's the place. It happened again, only this time I was attentive and I saw where it saves the file.

Hi, i up this post with this question :
I use corel draw 12 on windows XP and when I have a bug a save's file is created, named "cor1.cdr" in "c:\Documents and Settings\[user]\Local Settings\Temp\cor1.cdr " But i use corel draw 12 too on windows Seven SP1 and after a bug, impossible to find a file named "cor1.cdr" on the PC (the path is not the same too on Win 7). Someboby knows where is the file and the name (Does it always named "cor1 ?) . Moreover perhaps there is an option which isn't checked... Thanks a lot for your help. Nick. |

I am not sure 12 supports CorelScriptTools, but you can use them to get the temp folder and it will be correct for any OS:
Code:
CorelScriptTools.GetTempFolder -Shelby |

Thanks Shelbym i tried and it's ok.
I created a macro with your indication : Code:
Sub findfolder() Dim folder as string folder = CorelScriptTools.GetTempFolder MsgBox folder End Sub "XXX" is the name of the session. Thanks a lot. Last edited by nick; 22-10-2012 at 17:08. |
