Hello, guys!
I'm a naive user of CorelDraw V9 and Core lPhoto Paint and I have no idea how to proceed in this case: Let us call "A" a color CorelDraw file and "B" a JPEG B & W image. I would like to position A under B so that the colors in B show only through the white pixels in B. Is this a possible operation in Corel? If so, could anyone of you explain me how? I would be very thankful indeed Albert |

1. simple way - BW images can be recolored as regular shapes by clicking on palette, so you can make BW image transparent by clicking "NoColor" palette well with left mouse button to choose "no fill"
2. if that's not what you want then you can trace an image in CorelTrace, import it into CorelDraw, then combine/weld all those numerous objects in one shape (not group), and place other content inside using it as powerclip |

In CorelDRAW (I really don't recall if this works for 9, but I know it is in 11 - 13) place the B/W JPEG over the color image. Make sure it is a 1-bit Black and White image, if not convert it.
Then simply left click on the no fill icon on your color pallete. This will make the white area transparent. (BTW you can also change the Black area by right clicking on a color on the pallete.) I use this all the time. Way cool. Shelby |
