Hello everybody and Merry Christmas.
Does Corel Draw 12 supports Open Type fonts? I know it recognizes them but i don't think it fully supports them. For instance: ligatures. I believe you all know what ligatures are (special instructions in an .otf font in order to replace some character combinations with another glyph - for instance "dollar" with "$"). Does anybody found anything hidden in Draw regarding this feature? MDJ |

Fonts are always an issue. Open type comes in two formats that I know of open type true type outlines and postscript outlines. Postscrtipt outlines are an issue nearly everywhere, true type outlines seem to work most places. My first guess without more information is that the font itself may be the culprit. Take a look at the font in Windows font manager and see if all the characters are availalbe. As far as I know CorelDraw 12 has issues with postscript level 3 seperations because of unicode support issues but does fuly support properly written opentype fonts.

Something interesting I just noticed. I have a font called Bliss 2 which is required for a certain job. Corel 12 does not accept Bliss 2 because it is an opentype font. What I discovered though is the demo of X3 can use the font which is great. However, now out of the blue, Corel 12 can read Bliss 2. X3 must have installed a shared program file that allows for Open Type fonts.
