Question Defaults for print dialog

Hi all,
I need to switch of the option to convert Truetype to Type1 in the printer
dialog for PostScript printers.
I edited the corelprn.ini and switched off this option (=0) but it
doesn't get through.

Any clue why ?

Daniel

Which corelprn.ini did you edit?

Make sure you are changing the one in C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Application Data\Corel\Graphics12\User Config, not the one in your installation directory...

Thanks .. I would have thought the one in the install folder is the one. BUT .. doesn't work anyway. The box is still checked by default.

Try changing this:

C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\Application Data\Corel\Graphics12\User Custom Data\Print Styles\CorelDRAW Defaults.prs

This is a text file, pretty much the same as .ini

Doesn't work either. In fact Draw changes it back. What I did was set the parameter to 0 .. open Draw .. draw a rectangle .. go to print dialog and the checkbax was there.

To further explain: Unchecking the box isn't really a desirable thing. I am using wingdings (TT font ) though for some special numbering and Corel has big problems with those symbols. Where I see a count 1 2 3 4 on screen the print only shows fours. By unchecking the box the symbols are turned to curves and then printed .. et voila. I'd rather have Draw use wingdings correctly for PDFs to be searchable as text.

If anyone is interested:

Alex's suggestion worked for me. Are you sure you are changing the right setting?

Try saving the preset from inside Draw. I.e., uncheck the checkbox, then click "Save As" at the bottom of the "General" tab and overwrite CorelDRAW Defaults.prs.

You are correct - I probably missed out a checkbox when I overwrote the prs file (I had tried overwriting the default prs from the print dialog before).

Thanks a lot for pointing me at this error.

The problem remains that this will end up in a curve being printed - but at least the new prs will prevent the wingdings problem I am having.
