Gradient + Break Apart

Hi,

It coul be cool a tool who break apart in pieces
an Object who contains a gradient fill (fountain fill).

The number of pieces of the broken Object
is the equivalent of the number of colors steps.

Is that doable?

it is doable a tool who be able to create automatically a Palette Color
who contains all colors of the selected Object with a gradient fill?

I am not sure this is possible with a gradiant fill, but I bet you could do this already if you used a blend instead....then break the blend apart.

I'm doing it with export-import of an object to EPS Level1? but you should watch for the color mode? for example - you can have a gradient from Pantone1 to Pantone2, but you cannot make a fill of 40% P1 + 60% P2 with direct methods, or you can make a gradient from CMYK to RGB but it would separate to some one model and so on...

Look for the commands CorelSCRIPT.CreatePaletteFromSelection and Palettes.CreateFromSelection in the documentation

What about turning it into a bitmap & then doing a trace on it?

johndankey, that way is a bit long, no?

I have created for example a square,
I have apply a Fountain Fill of 5 diferents colors at 32 steps.

When I ’Create a Palette from Selection’,
DRAW only recognise the 5 colors,
not the all 32 gradient colors of my object.

I'm still thinking for your example of a rectangle, that it would be easiest of all to do a blend.

I think Lev's example of exporting a file to EPS and then importing it back through PS Interpreted filter would be the easiest solution. It will bring your fill as a set of narrow colored rectangles.
