Default Corel Draw 10 - adjusting DUPLICATE placing

Hi, just wondering if anyone has experienced an inability to specify the desired distance for placing duplicate objects in Corel Draw 10?

In my copy, the adjusters for X and Y offset always resets to 0.25 inches (the default I believe) when I put my cursor back into the work space and select an object. I have thoroughly searched through the various menu and preference settings to see if there is some kind of default lock that I can turn off but have found nothing. I called a friend who uses Corel 10 as well and he tried adjusting the X / Y offset commands with out any difficulty. I'm beginning to wonder if my program is buggy.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
