I know this will probably be a daft question, but I need some expert help!! when creating files in Corel with a lot of photos (brochures, large posters) the file size becomes huge! I even managed to create a poster that when converted to PDF was almost 1 GB

Your images don't need more than 300 PPI (DPI) if you are going to print them the size they are inside DRAW. You should resample them to 300 or perhaps less depending on where are you going to print them. Ask your print shop how many lines per inches will use to print, and multiply the number by 2. This is the right resolution your images should have.
Another way to reduce CDR files in to import linked images. This way what you have inside DRAW is a thumbnail of the original, and the DRAW will use the original while printing. Regards |
