Automation with C#

Hello everybody,

I have written many tools with Corel DRAW - VBA from Version 12 to X8.
Now I have a request for writing a tool that runs on Windows Server 2008 R2 and shall automate Corel DRAW X8. The Task is quite simple: Something like: Start Corel DRAW every hour, open some files, extract some informations, write these data into an csv file.

So, in VBA, running from a Corel DRAW-gms-file this would be no problem.
But the tool has to run outside Corel DRAW, started by a service or so. - so I think, this should be done by a C# or VB.NET application.
But I have only few experience in C# - so my questions are:
Is this an easy task? Can it be done at all?
Would it be an easy task for someone, that is good in DRAW-VBA AND C# ?

Would be very kind, if somebody could give me some hints in this.
(here in the forum I found nothing about automation with C# at all?)

This can easily be accomplished in C#.
Please post a sample cdr file and details of what you would like to accomplish, maybe we can help code it.

you are right - it's not difficult to do it.
and it's exciting code with c# when you come from VBA.
(although in the beginning it's hard)
it's like Mercedes and Volkswagen.

By the way, is there such a need - to run the program every hour, when you can start it once (e. g. in Autorun) and simple macro will be track timer and perform any actions
