Default Select objects inside another

Lets hope I can explain this clearly. I have attatched an example .gif on what I am trying to do.

Is there a way to select only the shapes that are inside another? For example, I would like to select the shapes that are inside the yellow shape as shown, this would be the red and blue. But I do not want to green shape selected.

I currectly use the bounding boxes to define my selection area but this always gets the green shape. Was just wondering if there was a way to tell when shapes are inside another.

Thanks for help,

Shelby

Default Re: Select objects inside another

Shelby,

It's a little easier with rectangles because you can test each of the four corners if they are inside your test shape or not. You can use Shape.IsOnShape method to determine if a point is inside or outside. If four corners are inside then the shape is inside. However there could be issues with shapes which have holes or if a shape is irregular (like circle inside a circle.
