Question loading plugins

Hi All,
(the short version)
I am trying to get an AlienSkin plugin to work via VBA.

(the long version)
I can get the plugin to work using CorelScript but not vba BUT
I learned on these forums that I can open and run a corel script from vba. So...
I used code to open and run a quick test .csc file. It works to a point but...
What is happening is the script will do nothing unless i manually go into the effects menu and "do" the AlienSkin effect once first. Then it will work every time after that even on new documents in THAT INSTANCE of PhotoPaint. This would work ok IF i had a bunch of files in THAT INSTANCE of PhotoPaint, but, I am using the "Edit Bitmap" option in Corel Draw which unfortunatly opens a NEW instance of PhotoPaint everytime. As soon as the New instance is open, the macro will not work anymore.

When I first ran it just from the CoreScript Recorder, it would say "plugin not loaded". It doesn't say that when I run it via VBA but I think it is doing the same thing. After i "activate" the plugin the first time, it works just fine using both methods.

So... my questions are:
1. is there a better way to automate the AlienSkin plugin?
2. if not, how do I "load" the plugin when a new instance of PhotoPaint opens?
3. has anyone had any luck automating the Eye Candy suite?

Any help would be most appreciated.

Thanks,
Mitsu1
