Default Assign function to Middle Mouse Button?

Hey There,

I am a complete utter newbie at the Coreldraw VBA, so bear with me...

How can I assign a behavior to the middle mouse button so that when you click and drag with it, it will automatically pan. Then when you mouse up again it goes back to whatever tool you had before?

Is this even possible?

Seems to work that way by default in X6, which is nice.

For other versions this might help: http://coreldraw.com/forums/p/24721/113456.aspx

Middle mouse button will scroll when you press it - but I want to make it act like the Pan/Hand tool. I haven't tried X6 so I don't know about that.

ha ha yes, the link you gave is my own thread on the coreldraw forum. But it uses a 'Autohotkey' script running in the background. I was hoping there would be a cleaner internal way of doing it..

Oh, I see that now, heh.

Yeah, in X6 it works just like in many other programs - just hold to pan the workspace, not the awkward scrolling of the previous versions.

As for VBA - I suppose you could do about the same as the Autohotkey script does using API calls and such... bit beyond my skills, though.

I would get X6 if I hadn't only recently brought X5! *sighs* oh well maybe next year.

The Autohotkey thing works by simply making the downpress of the middle mouse button type the keyboard shortcut for Coreldraw's Pan One Shot (set to `)followed straight after by a simlulated Left mouse down. Then when you release the middle mouse button it sends a simulated left mouse up.

So:
Middle Click Down = ` and Left Click Down
Middle Click Up = Left Click Up

Is it possible to do that or similar in VBA?
