Default Migrate from VBA to VSTA

All,

Does anyone know if Corel will be moving from VBA to VSTA? When? What impact will this have on existing code? And, any other info about it as I have only read very little.

See article: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/isv/bb190538.aspx

Thanks in advance,

Thayne

p.s. I know there is another post about this but there were very few responses. I thought this might have a larger impact on everyone if Corel did choose to switch so I am reposting the topic.

p.p.s. I, for one, would be happy with the switch. VBA is great but also way behind the times. Certainly if Corel wants to continue to compete with Adobe they should consider it.

Default Use VSTA to compete with Adobe?

I'm puzzled by this comment. I can't find any indication that Adobe has adopted VSTA for any of it's products. The Illustrator SDK is only for C++ plugins. Can you clarify or give some links?

Default Vsta

Corel and those that would know will not post information about future versions of CorelDRAW.

You will have to wait and see.

No specific links and they probably haven't adopted it yet. It's an assumption (and yes I know what assume makes out of U and ME) based on Adobe always being the at the leading edge of technology (please don't turn this post into a Corel vs. Adobe throwdown). Maybe this argument is really about whether or not VSTA will catch on and replace VBA. I don't know enough about any of it to make more than the assumptions I've already made, which is probably more than enough for now.
